Sold Out of Eggs

Sold Out of Eggs

This week we closed the Farm Stand

The Party of Seven Farm Farm Stand has been open 24/7 for a year and a half. We primarily sell eggs at our self-service stand. During the spring, summer, and fall months…you may find extra produce from our garden in the farm stand. But eggs have been the main thing. It has been a juggling act to supply eggs for our Doorstep Dairy and the farm stand customers. This week we dropped the ball and ran out of eggs. We closed the farm stand…for a day.

It doesn’t help when one person comes in and buys everything. That happened this week. One customer took all 25 dozen from the farm stand and left 1 egg in the cooler. They did pay…so that’s a plus. The white eggs are Goose Eggs…they don’t seem to be selling well.

On a more serious note. Eggs are out of control. Bird Flu is the major culprit…or so we’re told. I don’t dispute the existence of the flu. I do have questions about how it is being handled. Is the mass extermination of birds the best way to confront this sickness that has been around for decades? This farmer/milkman has questions. Maybe you do too. Maybe you’re not buying the mainstream narrative. Maybe you are. Regardless, I don’t think it’s ever wrong to ask the questions.

Joel Salatin wrote an article titled Bird Flu Vector. It’s a short and easy read if you care to see an alternative angle on the topic.

I’ve been questioned about the milk and eggs that we deliver to doorsteps all over southeastern PA. Is it safe? What measures are being taken to ensure Bird Flu doesn’t get into the milk or eggs and pass onto the humans consuming the products? Joel touches on some of this in his article. He mentions the common denominator between all the people who tested positive for Bird Flu in 2024.

Here’s a quote from his article:

“The study is titled Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza A(H5N1) Virus Infections in Humans. The study identified the 45 confirmed U.S. cases from March through October, 2024, and the single most common characteristic of everyone was this: “all the case patients who were exposed to infected poultry were involved in depopulation activities.”
