Spring Lambs

Spring Lambs 2024

Update from the Party of Seven Farm

Last spring we purchased 4 ewe lambs and a ram. Shauna, Dina, Katie, and Evie. Over the past 2 weeks, they have all had lambs.

These are a Kataden/Dorper hair sheep. Hair as opposed to wool. These sheep are bred for their meat. Wool sheep have lanolin in their wool and supposedly it can affect the taste of the meat. Hair sheep have no lanolin and the meat is much better. We are looking forward to grass-fed lamb in the future. For now, we are hoping to grow our flock.

Cinnamon and Uno

In a few weeks, the pasture will be ready for sheep and chickens. We are looking forward to moving them out of the barn onto green grass.

Rumor has it that a few of these lambs will be joining us at church this Sunday for the Easter Service:)
