Athelite Recovery - Free Samples

Athelite Recovery - Free Samples

Jenny is still at it!

Some of you will remember last June when we offered free samples of a Chocolate Protein drink. Jenny, a local Chester Country resident and dietician, has been on a quest to create a locally crafted and all-natural functional beverage. She calls it Athelite Recovery and it’s made right here in Lancaster County! A creation like this does not happen overnight. She has been jumping through hoops and sludging through red tape to bring this product to market.

Next week, we are asking you to try her new and improved recovery drinks and give her some feedback. She now has 3 flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, and Coffee.

Order your free 3-pack sample here. Available next week only…while supplies last.

Now I’m not very well-versed in the world of protein drinks, I can talk milk all day long…but the ‘functional beverage’ category is not something I have much experience with. If you know this space, I would love to hear your feedback.

  • Is this a product that you would like to see on our menu?
  • What price point would you expect to pay?

So what’s in it? Adequate amounts of…

  • The 3.2 g BCAA leucine which is the key turn on muscle synthesis 3-4 g is recommended post-workout during the anabolic window (15-30 minutes). The sooner the better.
  • Both the electrolytes sodium + potassium restore water balance due to sweat loss. Recommended amounts are at least 200 mg of sodium and between 300 and 800 mg of potassium. Our product contains 320 mg sodium and 700 mg potassium.
  • 33 g of complete protein to aid in building new muscle. Just slightly over 30 which is the max our body can absorb at a time.
  • Carbohydrates - despite their bad rap they are essential to improving your recovery and enhancing your performance during your next workout. Most shakes and protein powders on the market don’t contain carbs which is a disservice to consumers because they are actually necessary. Your body uses carbohydrates during exercise and they need to be replaced between 30-60 g post-workout. This shake has 47 grams.
  • Calories - 300-400 calories are recommended post-workout to refuel your body. Our product contains 350 calories.

What’s it made of?

  • Milk
  • Cream
  • Live and active yogurt cultures
  • Natural flavor - sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt.

Why we’re different:

  • Desired mouthfeel and perceived thickness without any food thickeners or stabilizers such as Vegetable Fiber, Sunflower Oil, Sunflower Lecithin, Guar Gum, xantham gum, CARRAGEENAN, CELLULOSE GEL, CELLULOSE GUM, inulin, pectin, corn starch fiber found in most if not all other products on the market.
  • It’s both the ingredients and the process of combining them that prevents the need for thickeners which was one of my goals.
  • Ours proudly contains carbohydrates.
  • Others contain sweeteners such as Monk Fruit Extract, ACESULFAME-POTASSIUM, SUCRALOSE, CONCENTRATED MONK FRUIT JUICE, and STEVIA LEAF EXTRACT making them low-carb.
